If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with hair care. I’ve tested shelves’ worth of brands over the years, but it’s rare for me to find one I want to rave about to everyone I meet. Besides my well-documented love for TYPEBEA, I recently made room for a new arrival on my bathroom shelf – one that’s as sweet as it is effective. Honey, it’s time I tell you about Gisou.
The first product I ever tried many years ago was the now iconic Honey Infused Hair Oil. Once you’ve put it in your hair, you will fall in love with it instantly. Not only because it makes your hair so smooth, but the Gisou smell is just heavenly. The best part is, it lasts forever as you don’t need a lot of product for it to do its magic.
The brand was founded by Negin Mirsalehi in 2015 and was born out of a passion for honey bees and haircare. Based on a six-Generation beekeeping heritage, each Gisou product is inspired by and made with the finest, sustainably sourced ingredients from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden based in the Netherlands.
The main ingredients Gisou gets its magic from are Mirsalehi Honey – which is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids – and Bee Garden Oils, an 8-oil blend and antioxidant powerhouse rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 to deeply nourish the hair and lock in moisture. If you didn’t know, honey is actually a potent antioxidant and renowned natural remedy that helps heal, nourish and prevent moisture loss. Liquid gold for your hair, basically.
So because I have seen such amazing results on other people, I had to place an order myself to get my hands on especially the Honey Gloss Hair Wash Duo and the Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask. My hair tends to get very dry and frizzy, so this seemed like the perfect solution. I went and got the trending summer bob and my hair was ready to be treated with care.
In my most honest opinion, these products are without a doubt the best in the game. The shampoo’s texture is creamy and blends in effortlessly. And the Gisou scent? Instant calm and self-care in a bottle. The conditioner glides through like butter, leaving a glossy finish that catches the light. And the hair mask? A shiny dream. Actually, did you know that – according to Negin’s mum – you are meant to use the mask before the conditioner? So it’s shampoo – mask – conditioner. We learn something mind-blowing every day, don’t we?
Even though I could not be more obsessed with all hair care products, I also fell in love with the Honey Infused Lip Oils which I definitely need to order more of. The lip oils aren’t sticky, smell amazing and have a beautiful glossy effect and hydrate your lips all day. You can pick between 6 different shades or get them all as they are absolutely worth the purchase.
To be completely straight with you, I tried Gisou and now it feels like we’re in a committed relationship. Can you blame me? I can genuinely recommend this brand and the variety of outstanding products and if you love their signature smell, definitely get the Wildflower Honey hair perfume.
