I wish I remembered the exact time and place I came across The Giggly Squad to paint the picture for you, but it was probably on a random Wednesday night, scrolling on TikTok instead of going to sleep early for once. Regardless, it only takes one video, one joke or one relatable comment to make you fall in love with a podcast and the women behind it. If you have never heard the names Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo, where have you been?
What is the best medicine on a sad and depressing day? Exactly, finding something to giggle about. Humor makes pain less painful and can turn your whole day around. For the past few weeks, I have gone down Giggly Squad Lane and watched episode after episode while getting ready for work, blow-drying my hair, doing my make-up or a whole lot of laundry. And let me tell you, it was exactly what I needed. The podcast, not the chores.

If you are a millennial, you probably struggle to find motivation too. I don’t blame us, we’ve been through it and we’re tired. Even Hannah is, despite the fact that she identifies as Gen Z. In those moments, we need the right thing to get us going again and for me and the rest of the Giggly Community that has been the joy spread by Hannah and Paige. Their friendship is extraordinary and while they are funny individually, when they come together the giggling never ends.
I just finished listening to their brand new book “How To Giggle – A guide to taking life less seriously”. I did buy a physical copy, but I had to get the audio version too so they could read it to me. Don’t judge. It was most certainly worth it, because their funny and authentic selves come through strongly and it was fun to listen to their stories in their own voices. What the book is about you might ask? The question is: what do you want it to be? With Hannah and Paige you never get just one thing. This book covers it all from their origin stories and friendship lore, to relationship advice, great humor, lots of bits and most importantly: the truth no one wants to talk about.

The New York Times Bestseller is a great read (or listen), but it also serves as a coffee table book you never knew you needed in your collection. As you can tell, it comes highly recommended, not just by me but by famous icons like Chelsea Handler and Hannah’s Nana, too. And Daphne definitely enjoys it as a bedtime story, if you can’t tell.
While Hannah and Paige are the perfect besties duo and their dynamic is unmatched, they have also had great solo success. As you might know, Hannah has been killing it in the world of stand up comedy. Her Netflix special “We Ride At Dawn” left us laughing on the floor out loud and hungry for Part 2. She is also taking her humor on tour, but has yet to enter European territory with it. We are waiting queen.

Paige on the other hand, has launched her own fashion brand Daphne – named after her gorgeous cat. The brand focuses on sleep- and lounge wear and is for all the girlies out there who love to bed rot in style. We live for that, don’t we? Paige is THE fashionista and we all love to watch her present look after look, always slaying like nothing else matters. I mean, let’s be honest, she has a point.
The friendship between Hannah and Paige is one of a kind and admirable in so many ways. Not only do they succeed together, but they cheer for each other’s individual success too. We love girlhood, we love Giggly Squad and – most importantly – we love the fact that life gets better when you got someone to giggle with.
