All About That Timeless Album

When All About That Bass kick-started her career almost a decade ago, we had no idea that Meghan Trainor would become a household name in the music industry and be the pop icon she is today. And yet, she is still very much underrated and being slept on despite the fact that she is an absolute genius in her craft. Her brilliant mind and exceptional gift have now created her best collection of music yet: her 6th studio album Timeless.

Timeless is out everywhere

When you take the time to listen to it top to bottom, you will come across some fun dance bops, self-love and empowering anthems and one very special ballad that is the perfect closing to this body of work. To Meghan, it mattered to create music that can live on forever, songs that send clear and relatable messages and make you feel good about yourself. Good music has the power to do that and everyone can find truth between her lines.

While some people might say that all her songs sound the exact same, MTrain is very proud of having a signature sound and she should be. For her newest body of work, she gave the world something different with To The Moon and oh boy did she deliver! Not just with the song itself, but the music video as well that featured her husband aka spy kid Dary Sabara, her adorable son Riley, dancing queens Brookie and Jessie and none other than the astonishing Niecy Nash. Speaking of the award-winning actress: her iconic Emmys speech did not only inspire the album track I Wanna Thank Me, but is featured at the beginning of it.

How often do you thank yourself for all you have overcome, for all you have achieved so far and for doing what others said you couldn’t do? Probably not often enough or not at all, if we’re being completely honest. Well, then let this song be your new daily mantra to remind yourself that being grateful for YOU matters. And if you want a follow up to that, go press play on Rollin‘ to boost your confidence. Personally, I think it’s a great anthem for all the girls out there who need to hear and feel it. I mean, we all know the answer to “who run the world?”, don’t we? Other songs that fit the same vibe are Crushin’, Bestie and Sleepin’ On Me.

As someone who relates to honest music and lyrics that describe my life, Hate It Here is definitely one of my favorites. Social anxiety is real and there aren’t enough songs talking about it and there surely wasn’t one that you can dance to while feeling every word of it. Meghan is known for making music that feels like the background track to your own life’s story and she’s always been brutally honest and genuine. Here are some lyrics that sound like pinterest quotes or could be your next Instagram caption:

“my time is precious, don’t waste it” – I Don’t Do Maybe

“I’m the girl of my dreams” – Crushin’ (feat. Lawrence)

“can’t do it like me, y’all wish” – I Wanna Thank Me (feat. Niecy Nash)

“don’t you see my eyes rollin’?” – Rollin’

“I win against the odds, call me the underdog” – Sleepin’ On Me
