We all have them and we all love them: comfort shows we have binge-watched more than once. No matter how many new TV shows get released, we always go back to the ones we know. It’s not only a testament to the directors and writers who brought it to life, but the actors who embodied their characters marvelously. Here are a few of my favorite shows featuring the incredible female leads I felt inspired by.
Suits – Donna and Rachel

When I came across Suits, I wasn’t convinced to watch it just yet. To be honest, I thought it was a show with male leads only and not my cup of tea. But as I dove into it, episode by episode, I quickly found the powerful female characters that added value to it. One one side there was Donna, the extremely confident, brave and bold secretary that made everyone stop and stare. If you ever feel anxious or nervous, channel your inner Donna and you will learn to activate your confidence from within.
Apart from the fierce redhead, a lot of viewers are obsessed with paralegal Rachel Zane. Even though she has come across as shy and scared at the beginning of the show, you can see her blossom into a strong woman and great lawyer season by season. What a queen she is!
Suits is by far one of the best TV shows ever made and without a doubt one of my favorites to watch and rewatch every few years. If you haven’t watched it yet, what are you waiting for?
The Bold Type – Jane, Sutton and Kat

Nothing screams girl power and female friendship more than The Bold Type. Not only is it one of the best shows ever made, but so incredibly inspiring and uplifting for anyone who needs it. Each character embodies something unique and each one of us will relate to one of them instantly. Watching them evolve, following their dreams and becoming successful and bold young women makes you wanna pursue your own career and add spark to your life.
I don’t think there will ever be a show like this one and while we will forever mourn the end of an era, we will keep manifesting a reboot to happen someday in the future.
Gilmore Girls – Lorelai and Rory

I remember watching Gilmore Girls with my mum back in the day when it was still airing on TV. And even years and years later, I still find so much comfort in binging it daily. Seeing them conquer their personal lives and careers never gets old and it’s one of those shows that make you laugh every time, no matter how many times you’ve seen these episodes in the past. So make yourself a coffee and press play on the chaotic story of the Gilmore Girls.
These are only a few of my top shows to binge-watch, but the list goes on and on. Other shows I’ve loved are:
Grey’s Anatomy, Revenge, Friends, Chesapeake Shores, Sweet Magnolias, Ginny & Georgia, Supergirl, New Amsterdam and Good Witch.
At the end of the day, you have to find the ones that make you the happiest while watching, because at times our comfort shows create that place of comfort we need to get through the difficult times in life.
