The Beauty of the Celebrity Brand Market

In both current and past generations, it’s pretty common to get fashion influence from someone in the public eye. Whether it’s a favorite artist, an actress, actor or a prominent figure in the fashion industry, it’s safe to say that everyone gets a little bit of inspiration from someone. Luckily, there have been countless fashion brands over the years that have either just launched recently, or stood the test of time with continued success.

One brand that has really held its own in the celebrity brand market is LC Lauren Conrad. LC was launched in 2009 by fashion designer and TV personality, Lauren Conrad. The brand is found exclusively at Kohls and features apparel, fine jewelry, footwear, handbags, and various accessories. Between the wide range of color, to the style combining both new and old, the pieces in this collection will truly have women reaching for them over and over again.

Personally, I think what makes LC Lauren Conrad so successful is how affordable and classy it is. As the fashion world evolves, LC continues to provide clothing that is made for the average, casual, workaholic, everyday woman in all age categories. The clothing is elegant and easily pairable for long lasting wear. I think partnering with Kohls has also been a staple reason as to why it has lasted so many years amongst its competitors. The constant sales and new releases directly into a store that is accessible to so many definitely plays a part in how significant this brand is.

In terms of newer fashion brand launches, British singer Rita Ora is no stranger to making groundbreaking moves. In 2023, Ora partnered with clothing retailer Primark to launch seasonal collections inspired by her favorite casual styles and evening looks. Fast forward one year later, and Ora is taking it to the next level by starting a hair care line alongside the founder of beauty brand, Vida Glow, Anna Lahey.

The brand, which is called TYPEBEA, is set to include products for high-performance hair care. The line will focus specifically on hair health and hair growth, which has great potential to be a direct hit for the current generation when it comes to growing popularity in dying, bleaching, and styling hair. With products created for all hair types, Ora is without a doubt going to empower many women into taking time to care for their hair. The brand is officially launching April 18 and the expectations are certainly high.

As we see brands stick around and continue to evolve, while others either end after a short run or take a different approach, there is one concept that remains a constant: the desire to lift up females and create a sisterhood of strength in the world of fashion. For these women that decide to take a chance on building a platform in the industry, it really isn’t about competition. Like LC Lauren Conrad’s nearly two decades of growth, and Rita Ora’s continued progress from her Primark partnership to TYPEBEA, it’s proof that women can grow alongside each other.

I definitely think it’s just as important for new fashion and beauty brands to develop just as much as it is for older brands to hold their place. There are brands I consider to be a lifeline when it comes to clothing and beauty, and without them I feel it would be much more difficult to want to branch out and try new fashion trends. Having a comfort brand is important, and seeing that female empowerment is so present in the industry is so relieving because the likelihood of new brands taking out others due to competition seems much less likely.

In the end, fashion is of the utmost importance within the celebrity brand market. Having fashion inspiration and a fashion icon to look to is so important for female generations new and old. The beauty in these evolving brands and styles is what will for sure leave a lasting mark on the industry, and on women of all generations.
