How often is it that you hear the words “fashion” and “sports” in the same sentence? Odds are it’s not too common. It can be difficult for anyone attending a sporting event to put style over comfort, especially when it comes to the insane weather demands of an NFL football game. That being said, the sports world needed someone to make an interception – and when you’re Kristin Juszczyk, you find a way to make the pass.

Founder of Origin, an online women’s clothing boutique, and most recently Designs By Kristin, combining the best of both worlds was not too far fetched. As the wife of San Francisco 49ers Kyle Juszczk, it became evident for Kristin that regular sports team attire was going to need a fresh tune up in order to match the passion she has for supporting her husband. In the early stages, she started by reworking her old t-shirts and jerseys into new designs. Fast forward to 2024, Kristin has now passed her designs along to some of the biggest names in pop culture.
At the AFC Wildcard playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium, Taylor Swift was seen sporting a bright red puffer jacket with an 87 plastered on the front. The jacket, representing Chiefs quarterback Travis Kelce, caught the attention of nearly everyone tuning into the game. The Swfties took to social media to rave about the jacket, and even had the NFL tweeting about it. Between the spot-on Chiefs colors, the NFL patches, and the detailed “Chiefs Kingdom” embroidered on the front, Juszczyk really set herself up for success with this design.

Not only has Kristin’s designs made it to Swift, she has also made a custom design for Olympic gymnast Simone Biles. Brittany Mahomes also received a custom puffer jacket to represent her husband, Patrick Mahomes, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Most recently, she designed Super Bowl inspired puffer vests for Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson. The puffer jackets have become a huge hit – prior to the big game she auctioned off her original design for $75,000, with all proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
What Kristin Juszczyk is doing for the football and fashion industries is truly incredible. The merging of two completely different worlds and two incredibly different target audiences is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. She is proving that sports attire does not need to stay limited to jerseys, t-shirts, and ball caps. She’s also sending a tremendous amount of encouragement to anyone hesitant about pursuing their dream of becoming an entrepreneur. There is so much power in creativity, and originality is what thrives. Kristin is proving that she has both.
Although it was a loss for the 49ers at the Super Bowl this year, the season couldn’t have ended on a higher note for Juszczyk. She just recently scored a licensing deal with the NFL, which allows her to use their team logos on future designs. In both the sports and fashion worlds, it’s clear that Kristin is going to keep the touchdowns coming.
