Have you ever listened to a song and thought “Damn, this artist must’ve stolen a page from my diary, because how did they read me like that?”. They say that music is a universal language and I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes it’s hard to put our thoughts into words or explain exactly how we’re feeling, but some people are just able to get it completely. From writing down lyrics in her diary and being afraid to share any of it with the world, to releasing multiple projects over the last few years, LØLØ is one artist that creates a safe space with her music.

The Canadian ALT-POP singer/songwriter gained popularity on TikTok through posting opposite perspectives of trending songs. Her most viral take was on Taylor Swift’s song Betty. She realized that her ability to turn her thoughts into lyrics was her calling, and it resulted in writing countless songs for not only herself but other artists as well.
I came across LØLØ back in early 2022 when she released a collaboration with Maggie Lindemann. I started listening to her discography and really vibed with her energy and lyrics. Later on in the year, her best friend Leah Kate announced that LØLØ would be opening for her European Alive and Unwell Tour. I was so excited because that meant I would finally get the opportunity to see LØLØ live, and the icing on the cake was that it was going to be on the tour of my favorite artist. I had attended every show on that tour and I fell in love with LØLØ and her music even more than I already had been before.

What personally drew me to her was her ability to always go above and beyond for all her fans. She has always been one to make it a priority to create relationships with every single one of her fans, from the start of her career until now. She remembers names, social media handles, and just small little details about everyone, making you feel so loved and important. It’s such a beautiful thing, as fans are the reason why artists are able to live out their dreams and do what they love every single day. So going out of your way to show appreciation to your fans is a full circle moment.
LØLØ’s music is relatable, raw and real and she is open about her struggles and life which has drawn a lot of fans to her and her art. Her songs address topics such as anxiety, depression, suicidality, relationships, all real-life issues that a lot of individuals in the industry are too afraid to address. These topics being addressed and her sharing what she’s been through, helps so many people feel seen, heard and definitely less alone. She has said that writing is her emotional outlet, a diary in a way, and for fans to resonate with what she writes never gets old for her.
The recently turned 26 year old has definitely put her name on the map with her talent and ability to connect with fans. LØLØ’s recent release Faceplant is out now on all streaming platforms, along with their entire discography. If you’re in Europe and you are interested to see and hear more, make sure to catch her on tour right now with Against the Current. See you there!
