Anyone walking into an AMC movie theater on October 13th would quickly find themselves walking into the ultimate Swiftie convention – The Eras Tour movie.
Merchandise was easily accessible at the ticket booth and came as a bundle that included an Eras Tour tote bag and light baton. Free mini tour posters were also handed out with ticket purchases, and a photo opportunity was set up nearby in front of a huge poster of Taylor. Memories were in the making before even entering the theater!

Outside of the film, what was the main attraction? The popcorn buckets. Collectible popcorn buckets, tins, and cups created a huge buzz on social media, and definitely lived up to the expectations. The regular popcorn buckets were placed inside the collectibles, and fans were given the option to either fill their collectible cup with a drink or have the regular cups placed inside – in other words, all merchandise would make it out safely without a drop of butter or soda to be found!
One of the highlights of attending the film was trading friendship bracelets in the hallway leading up to the theaters. I was able to trade nearly all of mine, and made several new friends in doing so! That’s what is so special about these bracelets – they open up so much community within the fanbase and it gives everyone an excuse to meet each other.
Seats quickly filled once inside the theater, and excitement grew as the previews played. However, when the lights dimmed and the screen suddenly read, “Enjoy the concert,” pure chaos erupted in the most unhinged way.

Taylor opened the tour with Miss Americana And The Heartbreak Prince and dove right into Cruel Summer. Each era held their own, and each had its own story to tell. Taylor’s vocals and choreography were loud, clear, and clean. There was a mix of fans standing, dancing, waving batons, taking videos, and participating to their fullest. The room was a complete no-judgment zone for two and a half hours.
Seeing Taylor on a screen as huge as AMC’s really made you feel like you were at the tour. In my opinion, the goal of making every fan that wasn’t able to attend – or did attend and wanted to relive it – feel like they were right there with her, was met completely. The film was created so intentionally for that reason that every camera angle and eye contact coming from Taylor was felt so deeply. The screams and clapping coming from the theater proved that perfectly.

Although I cannot say I attended the Eras Tour at a stadium, I can say I did attend it in a way. This was the opportunity of a lifetime and one that was as fulfilling as it would have been to see the tour. The Eras Tour movie is truly an unforgettable experience that I don’t recommend you miss, so buy the tickets! And as Taylor would say:
“Make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it.”
