Have you ever watched an artist grow from tiny venues to becoming a platinum selling artist who has performed in front of crowds as big as 50,000 people? From discovering Mae through my favorite girl group Little Mix – while she supported them on tour – I’ve watched and supported Mae grow into the hard working, humble and one of a kind artist she is today. From being the girl in Mika’s Grace Kelly music video to being the UK’s 2023 Eurovision Entrant – Mae Muller is definitely one to chase her dreams.
Growing up in North London, Mae is a 25 year old platinum selling, singer songwriter. She is all for writing songs that people can relate to and feel empowered by, which she has definitely achieved through hit songs such as Therapist and Jenny.

Throughout the years, people have fallen in love with Mae as a person and not just her music. She is such a down to earth artist, with fans saying “she always has time for us” and “always makes the effort”. For me personally, it doesn’t feel like I’m talking to this big celebrity every time I meet Mae, it’s more like catching up with my best friend. She cares for every single one of her fans and she always wants to know how we are or what we’ve been up to. She is our number one hype girl, who is constantly there to remind us of our worth and celebrate our successes with us. This makes her more than just an artist to us all, she is home.
Mae is no stranger to the stage, she has that star quality of being able to capture an audience with her stage presence and humor, leaving them wanting more. Mae supported Little Mix in 2019 on their LM5 UK arena tour. Now not every 22 year old with a big dream can say they are supporting global superstars Little Mix on tour, can they? This is where Mae was able to really grow her fanbase.
Using the lessons she learned on this tour, she took that forward into her first headline tour in 2020 and then again onto her No One Else, Not Even You Tour in 2022. Her shows are a place of comfort, which give us all a sense of belonging. After all, there truly is no better feeling than being in a room full of people who love the same music.

Sometimes I think you can really underestimate the power a fanbase can have on both, the artist and to the individual fans. Focusing on Mae’s fanbase, we definitely view each other as family – which might sound crazy to someone who isn’t your average fangirl. All thanks to Mae we’ve created this safe space of people, who have supported her in absolutely any way they can, whether that’s through streaming, attending shows or just simply supporting her music. The friendships to come out of her fandom are so strong, we really channel things Mae values into our friendships. Even outside supporting Mae, we truly are each other’s biggest cheerleaders.
Earlier this year Mae, captured the attention of the nation with her upbeat Eurovision entry – I Wrote A Song. A few weeks leading up to the announcement, speculation grew about Mae doing Eurovision. As fans, we put together the puzzle and realized the likelihood was very high. The morning it was announced via the BBC, we were excited, nervous and emotional over the possibility and how everything would change. I was sitting on a plane anticipating the news and as soon as Mae took her first breath, I knew it was her instantly. It was such an overwhelming and proud moment. I sat there crying with happiness because I knew behind the scenes she had been working so hard to get here and I knew how much it would mean to her.

Throughout the Eurovision journey, Mae’s personality and talent raked in new fans. Her bubbly, easy-going, fun personality, really made her stand out as she didn’t come across as your average celebrity. Coming together as one makes us so powerful, we’re such a dedicated fandom. This was shown recently when Mae’s Eurovision entry I Wrote a Song had a chance of being in the Top 10 of the Official UK Charts. I organized streaming and downloading parties for the song, where we all as a fandom rallied together and we made it happen! Mae managed to secure her first ever UK top 10, all because of her hard work and her fans’ commitment.
From a fan perspective, Mae’s Eurovision experience really emphasized how hard working and determined she is. There were pre-parties all across Europe that Mae performed at in preparation for the big night. Each week you saw that growth and her confidence grow stronger. She set out on her Eurovision journey, wanting to make people proud and did just that and so much more.
Mae Muller is one to keep your eye on, with her debut album Sorry I’m Late due to drop on September 15th and a tour to follow in November. With singles we’ve already heard such as I Just Came to Dance and Better Days featuring on the album, I’m sure we can expect some more bops alongside some tears on release night. Slowly but surely Mae is releasing snippets of her new tracks via her TikTok page, which has us all on the edges of our seats. Now is the perfect time to be getting into Mae’s music as this new era unfolds.
