How To Make 2023 Your Year In Style

First of all, Happy New Year! We are happy to welcome you on board again for more fashionable journeys and styling tips. We are so excited to see what the fashion world has in store for us this season. If you are following fashion news closely then you, of course, know that a lot has happened this January already. A new chapter of Gucci history after Allesandro Michele stepped down back in November, Louis Vuitton’s new collaboration with a Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, Miley Cyrus’ groundbreaking fashion looks in her music video for her new single Flowers and a lot more. But today we’d rather talk about something that is becoming a pleasant tradition at ROARA Magazine. Namely, the upcoming trends of 2023 and the color of the year. So let us introduce you to *drumroll* VIVA MAGENTA!

So what is this color? As Pantone describes it, “Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, and a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative. This year’s Color of the Year is powerful and empowering. It is a new animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and a boundaryless shade that is manifesting as a stand-out statement”.

Honestly, this sounds like everything we stand for as we share the same values. But as fascinating as this color is, it also might be one of the hardest colors to pull off, because the color itself is a statement. But don’t we love to be a little risky this year?

Here are some examples on how to rock Viva Magenta:

1. Cool it down

Top & Pants: ZARA
Pumps: H&M

As Viva Magenta is itself a very bright color and draws attention immediately, you might want to play it safe and wear something that lacks color completely, like black and/or white, leaving only one bright thing in your look.

2. Brighten it up

Top: H&M
Pants & Shoes: MANGO

If you’re brave enough and don’t mind some extra attention, you might want to mix Viva Magenta with another color that is either a total opposite or in the same color scheme, meaning that it is even brighter or a little duller.

3. Play it safe

Top: H&M
Jeans: ZARA
Shoes: MANGO

This is another safe option, but it doesn’t apply that it isn’t as cool as the previous ones. You can simply mix Viva Magenta, if it’s worn as a top part, with your jeans and a pair of sneakers for a casual but chic look.

We hope you found this piece of advice useful and will be encouraged to give Viva Magenta a try for your looks this year. Don’t hesitate to send us pictures of you rocking the color of the year!
