When you do your daily scrolling through social media, you come across new pictures of your favorite artists from past concerts, new brand campaigns or pretty candids taken in the flash. And while we like, love and share the photography, it is the eye behind the lense that catches these great looking moments. Have you ever thought about that? Photographers ask for credits and even though not everyone settles for the act of respect, we do have to start recognizing the hard work as well as the value of a signature shot. Especially as women, we have to work our way up to earn our place in any kind of industry and if the name Beth Saravo – known as “baeth” – doesn’t ring a bell, where have you been?

Photography is a beautiful way of capturing exceptional moments and creating memories you can look back on, years and years from now. Being a woman in any male-dominated industry is challenging enough as it is, but we all know that especially the music industry is still a total boys club. So try being a female music photographer. Despite the doubts and obstacles along the way, Beth made it in more than one way and is one of the most loved photographers by not only her clients, but fans as well. Her outstanding work speaks for itself and if we could pick anyone taking pictures of our favorite artists, we would always sign off on her with the utmost respect and validation. She has captured some of our favorite women in the industry such as Tate McRae, Madison Beer, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus and so many more. When she isn’t in attendance, it’s like: Where is Beth?
Not only has she taken the most beautiful pictures of all these incredible individuals, but she has also captured fan moments and has given us a great look behind the scenes. What more could we ask for? But Beth is more than just an exceptional photographer, she is an inspiring young woman who is leading by example, to hopefully encourage our, as well as the next generation to work their hardest to be seen and validated. No matter how many male colleagues show up to a show, fans will always recognize Beth. When you go to shows, how often do you know who’s taking the pictures, unless you’re a superfan? But when it comes to Beth, fans get excited over the collection of beautifully captured moments from shows that gave us a sense of belonging, safety and a place that feels like home.

Personally, I believe that it takes a special eye to capture feelings and exact moments that not only reflect the authenticity an artist has shown, but can be felt just looking through the selected photography. We all know that the future is female. But it is also filled with diversity, enormous talent, young voices pushing for change and hopefully a more accepting society and industry as a whole. There are still so many creative gaps to fill, there is so much talent that deserves to be recognised and rewarded and the more female representation there is, the brighter our future is going to be. Seeing Beth work her absolute hardest to get the job done and be a strong force in an industry that rarely takes a chance on women in general, you are witnessing proof of how determination and persistence can get you to a place where you belong.
Always remember: What a man can do, a woman can do even better. All you need to do is give them a chance, to show you how the “impossible” can be pushed through outstanding work; leading to great success while barriers are being broken in the process. So shoot your shots girls and start creating your own pictures of the beautiful life you deserve.
