The Freedom To Be Unique: A bit of crazy never hurts

Do you believe that your personal style is the way to express your inner self? As a personal stylist, I do. The way you dress up tells a lot about your mood, values and views. It can be strict or playful, monochrom or colorful, minimalist or all-at-once. But it’s always about you and your inner self.

Growing up, society was always telling us how girls should dress. A nice dress, pretty Mary Janes, slick ponytail and, please, don’t put on a lot of makeup, because boys don’t like it. But times have changed since then (thank God) and women have the freedom to express themselves in all possible ways. In the middle of the 20th century it was still unthinkable that women could wear jeans, leather jackets or suits. Now all these things are essentials in every woman’s wardrobe.

After getting this freedom, women became even more confident. We don’t have to apologize for what we wear or give reasons why we wear what we wear. We make statements with the way we dress. Statements to be powerful, to be free, to be bold, to be ourselves. All elements in your look merge together and speak for themselves.

Isn’t it a blessing to live in a time where we can wear just anything anywhere we go? Leggings are not only for a yoga class and slip dresses are not only for the bedroom. The freedom to be unique and to stand out is a new trend that we love and cherish. So why focus one a one-season-long trend that will come and go, when you can create your own and be that bold gal who stands out with her artistic vision? We gathered some items and designers that might help you with that or might inspire you try out something unique.
